About me

Ivet Serra is a Spanish multidisciplinary director, flautist, and stage manager based in Amsterdam, whose work stands at the forefront of contemporary performance practice. Bridging stage direction, conceptual creation, and musical theater, she is part of a new generation of artists redefining the boundaries between music and theatre.
Trained as a classical flautist, she completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the mentorship of Kersten McCall, Vincent Cortvrint, and Mariya Semotyuk, following her Diplôme d’Études Musicales at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris with Claude Lefebvre.
Her artistic output extends decisively beyond traditional interpretation into original musical and theatrical creation. She has appeared as both composer and performer at the Boslab Festival in the Bostheater, and conceived a reimagination of the opera Idomeneo, arranged for woodwind quintet, tenor, and soprano, and presented across leading venues in the Netherlands.
Ivet has also conceptualized and directed Pan’s Delirium, an evocative work inspired by greek mythology Pan's myth, integrating flute, harp, and dance into a unified performative language. In 2026, she further consolidated her voice with the premiere of her original “opical” - a hybrid of opera and musical - developed in collaboration with Béla Braack and premiered in March 2026. She has also worked and toured with theatre companies such as De Warme Winkel.
Her growing prominence in opera has led to sustained collaborations with the Dutch National Opera Academy, where she has served as assistant director and stage manager on multiple productions, working alongside directors including Klaus Bertrich, Floris Visser, Robert Chevara, and Anja Kühnhold.
Prior to focusing on direction, Serra built a strong performance career, appearing with ensembles such as the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and Ensemble Matheus, and performing as a soloist at the opening overture of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. With a practice that weaves together different disciplines, Ivet Serra continues to explore and shape her place within the European performing arts landscape.
